about me
Worship Leader, Songwriter, and crazy enough to believe that God knows my name.
New England, Born and Raised
It’s funny. I’ve lived in the Boston area my whole life, yet have full control over my “R’s”, greet complete strangers with a smile, and even care about life beyond the Red Sox.
In all honesty, I love New England. The distinct change of seasons, unpredictable weather patterns and “unique” street demeanor of its inhabitants, have in part, shaped me into the man I am today.
I’ve watched Dunkin’ Donuts turn into a dynasty. I’ve seen snow fall in practically every month of the year. I’ve watched curses get reversed and have seen grown men cry as a result.
I care for this strange land in a profound way. I’m disappointed when people write-off New England as a secular pothole. I’m not sure if I will live here the rest of my life, but I do know that a piece of my heart will always remain in New England. I have a strong desire to see people here know the love of God in a life-transforming way. I get “wicked” excited about engaging people that are tired of playing church, but have a hunger for deeper spirituality and want to connect with their Creator.
I’m a Singer/Songwriter
I’ve been playing music forever. Started writing my own songs at age 13, even though my voice squeaked more than the floor boards in my parents’ living room. My first “song” was actually just music put to Psalm 13. I realize now, that it’s no accident I went to the Psalms for my initial inspiration. I have a heart of David (for better or for worse), which shows up in my desire to love God through song.
I’ve released a couple of albums in the last 4 years. I used to think that I wanted to be a famous acoustic rock act. Then I got really bored. Now, I realize that songwriting for me is a means to an entirely different end.
Equipper
I’m 90% sure that’s not even a word. That’s ok. One of my main objectives/calls in life is to equip Jesus followers to bring transformation where they live, work and play. I believe that anyone who claims to follow Jesus has entered “full-time ministry”. What is that ministry? In a nut-shell, every Jesus follower has been given a mission of reconciliation. They are instrumental in connecting people with God. Christians have the responsibility to show people that God wants to be directly involved in their lives, and that he isn’t holding anything against them (see 2 Corinthians 5:18-21).
I want my life to give attention to a lovesick God who desires a meaningful relationship with us. And despite our ability to screw things up, over and over again, he wants to make things right…for all of us.
